In a bid to conceptualise the programmatic elements and socio-spatial considerations involved in the planning of an experience, the first semester of final year brought us to design a bathhouse. The physical context was a choice of 3 locations within Belfast, Northern Ireland, each offering different constraints and opportunities.

Based on the traditional Japanese bathing experience, I chose to design an elongated building offering a sequence of bathing spaces culminating in meditation nestled within a long narrow site in a low-rise neighbourhood, offering a physical connection to the water element of the Ormeau river.
